Patek Philippe Calatrava “Clous de Paris” 6119 manual winding

New design and new movement of the classic replica Patek Philippe

Patek Philippe Calatrava is an icon in the watch industry and hardly worth introducing. This model was launched in 1932, numbered 96, and is regarded by many as the ultimate formal watch. Since the introduction of the Paris crown in the bezel with reference number 96D in 1934, in countless versions of Calatrava, Paris Clous Paris has become a trademark of Patek Philippe. In 1985, the symbolic reference number 3919 came out and is often widely used. It is regarded as a typical Calatrava. This effortlessly elegant 33mm formal watch is driven by the micro-rotor movement 215. The 5119 model introduced in 2006 is slightly larger at 36 mm. It’s time for the model to transform itself with a larger, modern version. Meet the Patek Philippe Calatrava 6119 and its new manual winding movement.

Patek Philippe updated its long-standing Calatrava with reference 6119, improved with Clous de Paris theme and small seconds. Reference 6119 is a direct reference to the 3919 and 5119 references. The first important change is the expansion of the contemporary 39 mm diameter. As you would expect from Patek Philippe, this goal was achieved without compromising the slender appearance of the case.

The guilloche-shaped nail bezel has a slightly wider profile and the thin, polished rounded corners of a frame-shaped sapphire crystal. The lugs have also been redesigned. These are tributes to Ref. 96. Lacquered Roman numerals of Refs. The 3919 and 5119 have been replaced by the 18K gold faceted “obus” marker (with a double marker at the 12 o’clock position) and paired with goldfish-shaped hands. The smooth “cheveu”-style seconds hand sweeps on the accessory dial, which is divided into four parts.

The larger case diameter necessitated the use of a new movement. The diameter of the hand-wound Patek Philippe 215 PS movement is 21.9mm x 2.55mm, which cannot fit into a 39mm case. It is replaced by a manual winding movement 30-255 PS with a diameter of 31mm (exactly the same height, 2.55mm!). This modern movement comes with some interesting upgrades. The dual-barrel movement has a 65-hour weekend power reserve, compared to 44 hours at 215 PS. It also has a second stop mechanism for precise settings. The new 30-255 PS movement can be admired through the sapphire caseback. Its 6 beautifully shaped bridges and unique Patek Philippe-style exquisite finishes will amaze you.

There are two versions of the Patek Philippe Calatrava 6119. referee. 6119R-001 combines a rose gold case, a silver dial and a chocolate brown alligator strap. referee. White gold 6119G-001 is equipped with a charcoal gray dial and a black alligator leather strap. The watch is equipped with a pin buckle that matches the material of the case.
