Jacob & Co.’s newest chronograph is the stunning blue crown on top of the Epic X collection. The Epic X Chrono Tourbillon has an all-titanium case. The case, bezel, caseback and crown guard are all made of ultra-light metal. It is satin-finished in orientation following the general shape of each component: the bezel is round, the pusher guards are horizontal, and the lugs are two-way.

The hints from the Epic Design Matrix are clearly visible. The claw-shaped lugs line up with the vertical bars on the translucent blue dial, forming the original X pattern from which the Epic X is named. The automatic movement JCAA09 is a new Jacob & Co. exclusive movement. This column wheel dual pusher chronograph features a biaxial chronograph with a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock. It complements the Jacob & Co. One Minute Flying Tourbillon. Without upper bridges, the tourbillon cage sits on the same level as the sapphire and mineral glass dial.
This creates a continuous effect that helps seamlessly integrate the tourbillon into the overall design of the piece. The upper side of the cage is crescent-shaped and openworked, in keeping with the typical Jacob & Co. design, while also having the advantage of light weight, a prerequisite for any Jacob & Co. tourbillon.

Caliber JCAA09 has been carefully crafted to be called a haute horlogerie movement. The movement bridges are polished, the main plate is circular-grained, and the column wheel is bevelled, polished and horizontally ground. The main bridge of this movement has a unique decorative pattern. Inspired by the large X stripes on the dial, it unites front and back in the spirit of a single pattern.
Skeletonized anthracite-coloured rotor with “Jacob & Co Genève” engraving in red lacquer. Its shape is typical of the Epic X Chronographs line, as is the colored mineral glass covering the back.
