Franck Muller Vanguard

Today, we will review the chronographs of the Franck Muller Pioneer.

You may have witnessed the new Franck Muller Vanguard watch among thousands of people. So if you’re looking for something to hide under your cuff, be cautious looking elsewhere. It’s a 16mm thick personalised timepiece, but don’t let that scare you. If you’re the kind of thing that needs a little edgy on your wrist, then you’ll love what you’re going to learn next.

Weighing only 44mm x 53mm, this tonneau-shaped case features a smooth PVD-coated black matte finish, made from stainless steel and embedded in a glossy 18kt rose gold sandwich. The most appealing aspect of this design, however, is the front of the case.

Bold rose gold-touched numerals complement the vertical brushed slate grey dial, and shine outward on the dial edge in the serif-style font common on Franck Muller watches. Alphabetic tachymeter scale on silver dial ridge. The inky black part of the dial edge finely engraves the track of the second hand in white.

Both the chronograph sub-dial and the small seconds sub-dial are nourished and feature an elongated radially ribbed texture. Using radiant rose gold hands, these sub-registers are regularly moulded in black and white and feature a rose gold frame. At 6 o’clock on the dial, you’ll find a circular rose gold-trimmed date replica watches

The sturdy and bold partially skeletonized hour and minute hands are made of rose gold and brushed and polished, partially with luminous material. The central chronograph second hand is made of the same material and has the same finish, but with a red arrow tip with luminous filling.

Inside the case, you will encounter a beautifully polished movement with Côtes de Genève, circular graining and rhodium plating. However, this watch has a thick caseback, so the mechanical movement can only be used if the caseback is discarded.

The 27-jewel mechanism powering this timepiece is the self-winding Franck Muller FM-7000 movement, which uses a 4Hz mechanical inclination, beating at 28,800 VPH and has a potential reserve of approximately 48 hours. Its innovations include chronograph hours, minutes, date and seconds.

The case back has a vertically polished sheen and is embedded with the Franck Muller logo and the slogan “Master of Complications”, the number and reference number that define the edition.

On the right side of the case is a black PVD-coated crown with a polished Frank Muller logo on the rose gold end cap. Secured to your wrist with a soft and comfortable purple-grey rubber band, this beautiful timepiece features a mild-touch calfskin leather case with rose gold stitching.

The strap features a matte black PVD-glazed folding clasp with a rose gold medallion on the hook and the copy Franck Muller logo in the same design as the end cap of the winding crown.

All in all, this is a beautifully designed, modern, artistic timepiece, and for those who are looking for a watch with a few pieces, it has a fine wrist. Made by a watchmaker well-respected in the industry, it will appeal to watch connoisseurs and laymen alike.
