In 2000, Italo Fontana accidentally discovered the watch design of his grandfather Ilvo Fontana. In 1942, he was commissioned by the Italian Navy to manufacture high-performance, well-made, and high-quality timing tools for Italian military seamen to wear.

However, for more than half a century, Ilvo Fontana’s original design in 1942 has not appeared. After discovering his grandfather’s design in 2000, the young Fontana spent seven years working on U-Boat watches, using the precise technical specifications of his grandfather’s blueprints as well as modern technology and advanced state-of-the-art materials, including carbon fiber, ceramics, tungsten and titanium As well as high-quality stainless steel, bronze and gold.
