Breitling TOP TIME CLASSIC CARS CAPSULE COLLECTION

Breitling Top Time Classic Cars Capsule Collection contains three models, each model is inspired by iconic cars of the 1960s, namely Top Time Chevrolet Corvette, Top Time Ford Mustang and Top Time Shelby Cobra. All versions are powered by COSC-certified automatic movements.

The name “Breitling” is synonymous with chronograph. Since its founding in 1888, this Swiss brand has mainly focused on the manufacture of chronographs. In the early 20th century, the brand released the “Vitesse” pocket watch, allowing its owners to measure speeds up to 150 km/h.

Gaston Breitling studied the early wrist-worn chronographs and invented the first independent chronograph button at 2 o’clock and obtained a patent. Over the years, the brand has never stopped innovating. Most notably, in 1934, Willy Breitling re-examined the chronograph and conceived an ergonomic arrangement of two buttons, which is still widely used today.

Since the early 1930s, Breitling has been closely related to the aviation industry. The company produces cockpit instruments, but is also known as a manufacturer of pilot watches, especially after the now legendary Navitimer was released in 1952.

Breitling has a long-standing connection with chronographs and aviation. However, since Georges Kern was appointed CEO of the brand in 2017, the watch company has attracted a new audience.

Although Breitling has provided ladies watches in the past, these styles look a bit masculine. However, under Mr. Kern’s rule, the company produced more feminine works, such as the Chronomat 36 South Sea Capsule Collection. In addition, the Grenchen-based company has copied previous classics. Quite simply, with clever marketing and a product mix that attracts a wider audience, Kern’s current strategy seems very wise.

In February 2021, the brand released a limited edition Breitling Top Time Deus Chronograph. Compared with the company’s excellent Breitling self-made movement 01, its movement-COSC certified Calibre 23 is moderate. However, this decision allowed the Swiss company to price the model very keenly. In addition, Top Time Deus Chronograph stands out among most models on the market with its wonderful retro look and eye-catching dual composite dial layout. This watch may be one of Breitling’s easier-to-use chronographs, but in my opinion, it is also one of the most beautiful chronographs.

Now, this long-established watch company has just launched the Breitling Top Time Classic Cars Capsule series. The series includes three references, each celebrating iconic cars from the past. The Top Time Chevrolet Corvette is equipped with a red dial, three black counters and a tachymeter scale. The COSC-certified Breitling Calibre 25 automatic movement is at the heart of the watch. The Top Time Ford Mustang is almost the same as the Corvette theme watch, except that the dial uses a green hue rich in octane.

In my opinion, the highlight of Breitling Top Time Classic Cars Capsule Collection is Top Time Shelby Cobra. Unlike the above models, this chronograph uses a dual composite layout to give symmetry. The counter is a square with rounded corners, the dial is blue, and the white circle surrounds the dial area. The self-winding COSC-certified Breitling Calibre 41 movement performs all necessary timing tasks. With the advent of this model, Top Time Deus Chronograph now has a competitor in beauty, which makes it a difficult but pleasant choice for potential buyers.

A unique celebration of design and freedom: Breitling’s Top Time Classic Cars Capsule Collection pays homage to the classic sports cars of the 1960s.

These three non-traditional racing chronographs draw inspiration from the three icons of American car culture: Chevrolet Corvette, Ford Mustang and Shelby Cobra. The timepiece itself is a tribute to the first Breitling Top Time models in the 1960s, which were designed for “young and active professionals”. Today’s modern retro interpretation may be younger and more free-spirited.

“It’s about the journey, not the rhythm. Whether you’re tinkering under the hood or on the road to celebrate the Sunday ride of these beautiful machines,” Breitling CEO Georges Kern (Georges Kern) ) Say. Breitling replica A13324121C1X1

These disruptive chronographs are car-inspired and stand out with their bold dial colors, orange and yellow or red and blue touches, and racing-themed calfskin straps. The engraved stainless steel back cover displays the logo of each car in impressive detail, and the chronograph buttons are dotted on the dial. All three watches are water resistant to 10 bar (100 meters).

The series includes the Red and Black Top Time Chevrolet Corvette, based on the eye-catching design of the Corvette C2 in the mid-1960s, often referred to as “Sting Ray” by enthusiasts. Fun fact: Did you know that the car manufacturer Louis Chevrolet is a Swiss racer born in the watchmaking city of La Chaux-de-Fonds? Then came the Green and Brown Top Time Ford Mustang version, which was inspired by a car developed in record time in 1964, giving rise to a new type of compact and affordable sports car. It quickly reached iconic status in the hands of rock stars and Hollywood actors, and played an iconic role on the silver screen. Last but not least, there is a blue and brown version of Top Time Shelby Cobra. The mood board of this watch revolves around a powerful machine created by the iconic American racer and manufacturer Carol Shelby for the 1960s races. It compares the classic British chassis design with the originality and engineering of American racing. Combine. This watch hints at one of its unique paint jobs: blue and white racing stripes.

The 42 mm case of the Chevrolet Corvette and Ford Mustang versions is equipped with the COSC-certified Breitling Calibre 25, which is a self-winding 1/8-second chronograph movement with a power reserve of approximately 42 hours. Both watches are equipped with tachymeter scales and three contrasting black subdials. Their dial shows the car logo at 12 o’clock. Breitling cheap

Inside the smaller 40mm Top Time Shelby Cobra, it is equipped with the COSC-certified Breitling Calibre 41, which is a self-winding 1/4 second chronograph movement with a power reserve of about 42 hours. It has a white tachymeter scale and two white contrasting subdials, as well as the Cobra logo at 6 o’clock.

However, this racing tradition is not about running around. Rather, it is about a means of transportation that conveys a sense of freedom and happiness. So that you might even forget the time…

The three symbols of American car culture

The second-generation Chevrolet Corvette, released from 1963 to 1967, is the most sought-after version of this American legend. “Sting Ray” was inspired by a racing prototype in 1959. Thanks to its tight and low-key body, it looks amazing today. With its outstanding performance on roads and tracks, it has always haunted dreams and inspired the imagination of fans all over the world.

The first generation of Ford Mustang was produced from 1964 to 1969, compact, affordable and sporty. Some models are suitable for families, while others are suitable for competition-focused athletes. It is a true idol popular among rock stars and actors. It also appeared in some of the most popular movies of that era. Car enthusiasts know that the original Mustang helped define the coolness of an entire generation. This beloved living legend is still in production and is as relevant to today’s customers as it was in the 1960s.

In the early 1960s, Le Mans champion Carroll Shelby envisioned a car that combined British chassis design with American racing engineering. He created the Shelby Cobra, a sports car that cleverly matched a small and lightweight chassis with a powerful, reliable American big-cylinder engine. When it was launched in 1962, the Cobra was an immediate success. The original Shelby Cobra is still an extremely fast and popular car today.
