Richard Mille Unveils New RM 27-03 Rafael Nadal Watch – A Timepiece Capable of Withstanding 10,000G Shocks

Just before the start of this year’s French Open, Richard Mille unveiled the stunning RM 27-03 Rafael Nadal watch. It features the first-ever “tourbillon shock-resistant system,” capable of withstanding shocks up to 10,000 Gs. During the Roland Garros tennis tournament, this watch will be the centerpiece on Rafael Nadal’s wrist – a title the Spanish tennis legend is poised to claim.

The watch employs a new construction, integrating the case and movement into a single unit to ensure its signature high durability. The case is made of TPT quartz, connected to a carbon fiber TPT monolithic baseplate, and complemented by Grade 5 titanium bridges and reinforcements. Its design is inspired by the Formula One racing industry.

This timepiece pays homage to Rafael Nadal‘s legacy and personality in its aesthetics, featuring a striking yellow and red quartz TPT case. The carbon fiber TPT case is constructed from multiple layers of parallel carbon fiber filaments, created by separating each filament, giving the case a unique visual appeal and texture. The vibrant colors of the RM 27-03 originate from the process of mixing coloring resin with fine layers of silica and injecting it into stacked layers, then heating it at 120 degrees Celsius to achieve perfect fusion. This watch, with its striking colors, is a true exemplar of sports watches—making its release on the eve of one of the world’s most iconic tennis tournaments—the European Championship—a natural fit.

The watch houses the breathtaking RM 27-03 manual-winding tourbillon movement, which displays the hours and minutes. However, what truly captivates is its V-shaped structure, which not only secures the movement together but also enhances the watch’s robustness and durability. This novel movement design fully demonstrates Richard Mille’s pioneering spirit in the pursuit of aesthetic excellence and innovative movement design.

The skeletonized bridges, with their sleek lines and unique design, encircle the mainspring barrel, balance wheel, and mechanical tourbillon, reportedly inspired by the bull—a traditional symbol of Spain and the birthplace of Rafael Nadal. The movement’s finishing maintains Richard Mille’s consistently high standards. Each component is hand-polished to ensure dazzling brilliance and highlight the importance of every detail in this special timepiece.

Another groundbreaking and striking feature of the RM 27-03 is the torque-limiting crown. Constructed from a combination of carbon fiber and TPT quartz, this crown resembles a tennis ball, with even the subtle indentations on its white trim clearly visible. While not a new design from fake Richard Mille, the torque-limiting crown prevents accidental overwinding, avoiding damage to the crown stem or excessive stress on the mainspring barrel.

This one-minute tourbillon operates at 3 Hz and is expected to run for 70 hours before the rapidly spinning mainspring barrel requires manual winding.

The Richard Mille RM 27-03 Rafael Nadal watch features a Richard Mille “Comfort Strap,” crafted from a combination of elastic fibers, making the watch exceptionally comfortable and lightweight to wear. Considering its weight and size (40.30 x 47.77 mm), it is undoubtedly one of the most comfortable fake luxury watches available, fitting almost like a second skin. This timepiece is truly extraordinary, and its limited global release adds to its legendary status.
