175 years have passed since the adventure of Ulysse Nardin watch! But who could have predicted that in 1846, the young Ulysse opened his watchmaking workshop in Le Locle, a wonderful journey awaiting the company now named after him? And, most importantly, who can imagine the extraordinary influence of his timepieces all over the world and throughout the ages? Accompanied by his son Paul David, Ulysse Nardin quickly established the outstanding reputation of the master of the marine observatory. Witness the numerous timekeeping awards he has won over the years and his great success in approximately 50 Marine Corps, Geodesy Institute and Observatory.
Launched in 2017, the Marine Torpileur series is the trusted descendant of the iconic Marine Chronometer. Its name comes from the small ships of the 19th century, and their agility and speed allowed it to fight against larger naval forces at that time. This exquisite, high-performance modern series is expanding its horizons this year, launching seven watches that combine Ulysse Nardin’s superior philosophy embodied in silicon technology, tourbillon and astronomical traditions, high-precision chronographs, enamel craftsmanship and Aesthetic creativity.

On the occasion of Geneva Watch Day in September, among the watches that make up this incredible fleet, the blue Marine Torpilleur Grand Feu Enamel highlights the expertise of the independent company Donzé Cadrans in Le Locle on the most demanding enamels. Superbly mastered and acquired by Ulysse Nardin in 2011. In addition to the magnificent blue enamel dial made with the “Grand Flame” technology, this limited edition timepiece of 175 pieces also inherits the design code originally envisaged by the Ulysse Nardin watch: cathedral hands, Roman numerals and 60-hour power reserve indicator. The perfect combination of precision and elegance, the limited edition Marine Torpileur Panda also raises the anchor, revealing two small dark blue sub-dials in the white dial (one for power reserve, the other for small seconds and date), an unprecedented design of Ulysse Nardin. . This magnificent fleet is completed by a moon phase model with two 300-piece versions and an annual chronograph with two 300-piece models. The latter is reminiscent of pocket watches produced by watch factories between 1936 and 1980, measuring time with an accuracy of 1/10 second, and affirmed the status of Ulysse Nardin as a master of timekeeping-since 1846!

Leave mooring aside
Two years after the launch of the platinum ocean superyacht, the Ulysse Nardin watch once again set up anchor in a spectacular pink gold style, ready to sail the seven oceans. This futuristic work is a watchmaking fable of a famous modern ship sailing in Shanghai, highlighting the technical nature of precision machinery. Its front has made countless allusions to the nautical world. The first is a flying tourbillon equipped with a cage inspired by the latest generation of propellers and a Grand Feu enamel 3D dial, reminiscent of the bow of a ship sailing in the ocean.
As it governs the power of the tides, the moon is also invited to the dial through an accurate 3D rendering, which has a laser-engraved surface that is exactly the same as the original version. This is composed of two hemispheres, the first is treated with blue PVD during the new moon, and the other is rhodium-plated to simulate the appearance when illuminated by the sun. The tide indicator and its amplitude display complete the vibrant picture, and its visual power is enhanced by the extremely primitive power reserve indicator, which is completed by an anchor equipped with a miniature winch at 12 o’clock.
The “motorization” of Marine Mega Yacht is naturally powerful and efficient.
